I have the same problem. This is because the generated IDs are not
unique, due to the lack of entropy. I attached a patch that should fix
it. I hope the development team can integrate it to the next release.

Description:
------------
I tried generating .xmi files from my PHP app, using both xmi version 1
and 2, but they are not readable by either eclipse GMF plugin or by
umbrello UML editor.

This leads me to suspect that there is a problem with the generated xmi
file.

Expected result:
----------------
Generated xmi files are readable by 3rd party xmi UML readers

Actual result:
--------------
No app I tried can read PHPUML's xmi files
