If I understand correctly, he wants to have the sourcemap file on the CDN
too. I think that would work if you put an absolute URL in the .min.js
file. That way nobody needs to copy sourcemaps around and you can move the
.min.js wherever you like.

To avoid mismatches, the sourcemaps and the source code should live in a
versioned directory and not mirrored to "latest" or "head". The absolute
URL in the .min.js file should contain the specific version number.
