OT: Warning for Wall Street Journal subscribers -- telephone SCAM

NNTP-Posting-Host:  null

Please accept my apologies if this warning is unwelcome or unwarranted
for you personally or for this newsgroup in general . . .

Those who are Wall Street Journal subscribers need to be aware that you
may be called (automated call) telling you that they need your new
credit card number or expiration date (that your credit card used for
subscription has expired), and giving you the opportunity to punch the
number or the date into the phone pad. THIS IS A CREDIT CARD SCAM. The
Wall Street Journal does not conduct it's business in this fashion.
Apparently hackers have gotten a subscriber list from the WSJ which
includes telephone numbers. We and others have been contacted within
the last hour and we have confirmed with the WSJ that they do not
conduct such automated calls. If you are contacted and you do give your
credit card number you need to immediately notify your credit card
company.
