DISCUSSION...
Issued at 145 AM CDT Sat Sep 14 2024
The models have continued to back away from the already low
precip chances for this weekend. Other than a small chance of a
shower early this morning across the southern cwa, have gone
with a dry forecast for the entire area. There is a very small
chance of a shower in the far southwest or western cwa, mainly
this afternoon into early this evening but chances are too low
to continue mention in the forecast. Dry weather is then
expected through at least Friday night. Blended pops are in the
slight chance range for next Saturday as some of the ensembles
try to move a front into the area. With the possibility of a
tropical system moving into the mid Atlantic by midweek, expect
the entire pattern to slow with these pops likely overdone.
No changes to the high temp forecasts which will be in the 80s
through next weekend. The warmest days are expected to be
Sunday and Monday with upper 80s expected for most areas with
some locations reaching 90. Persistent easterly flow will
continue through the entire period, which will keep temps cooler
near Lake Michigan. cms

AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z MONDAY/...
Issued at 1208 PM CDT Sat Sep 14 2024
No forecast concerns through the TAF period as high pressure
will remain over the Great Lakes. East-southeast winds are
expected to prevail through Sunday afternoon with speeds
generally in the 5 to 10 kt range during the day and 4 to 5 kt
range overnight. Though, a lake breeze will move through GYY
this afternoon resulting in a more northeast wind direction.
Otherwise, expect some SCT to BKN VFR cirrus to linger overhead
through the period.
